What can I say ... It was another case of our guy being faster, stronger and more skilled. Ahmed stepped into the ring and executed a well thought out fight.
Being that the air yesterday in Gleason's was very humid to say the lease, we needed a more mental game plan for this fight. The plan was go out and pick our shots one at a time from the outside. Not to over exert or throw any wasted punches because today we gotta respect the weather and the competition.
From there, find out where the opponent intents to go with that pace and make the necessary adjustments. And that's what happened, Ahmed threw some very good basic punches at long range that the opponent brought into. The opponent, now thinking that was all Ahmed was gonna feed him, upped the pace by jumping in on Ahmed in the second round only to fall into a trap.
The trap of someone who appeared to want to keep the fight on the outside but when pressed on the inside ripped devastating punches. Then Ahmed would step out into midrange and fire a barrage of punches to the head and body. The Ref gave the opponent two standing eight counts before stopping it in the 3rd round. Ahmed now goes upstate to represent the boroughs at the Empire State Games.
