Ahmad Mickens is a uniquely inspired fitness professional dedicated to empowering clients to achieve their personal best through individually focused sports training and mentoring.

Certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the American Council on Exercise, the International Sports Conditioning Association, the National Federation of Professional Trainers, and Reebok University, Mickens is educated and trained in various disciplines including Basic Joint Rehabilitation, Lumbar Stabilization, Reactive Neuromuscular Training, Movement Screening, Spinal Stabilization, Core Training, Training Special Population, One on One Flexibility, Program Design, Strength Training, Youth Training, and Body Mapping. Mickens has successfully partnered with over one hundred clients to achieve their desired levels of personal fitness.

A certified boxing coach with over seven years experience as an amateur boxer and former sparring partner to professional heavy weight Akbar Muhammad and Olympic regional champion Spencer McCullom, Mickens has integrated boxing and flexibility training into his customized programs for groups and individuals. His personally tailored programs and hands on mentoring consistently enable clients to out perform traditional, standardized methods of personal training to achieve tangible results.

Mickens' established client base was built at some of the industry's leading health clubs, including Sportsplex in Stamford, Connecticut, where he produced the highest revenue among personal trainers for over four consecutive quarters. The creator of "Fighting Fit", a specialized boxing fitness program for youth and adults and "Back to Basics", a training program for youth at the Italian Center of Stamford, he has also appeared as a motivational speaker in association with the New Haven Public Schools, Southern Connecticut State University's Career Exploration program, and "Aspirations for Higher Learning" at Yale University.

Through dedicated practice of an integrated approach to physical health and overall well being, Mickens illustrates a steadfast belief in the power of commitment to positive behavior and action to consistently improve quality of life. He demonstrates his personal philosophy for success by example, practicing what he preaches. Ultimately, his model approach to exercise and living promotes health and happiness as the most tangible measures of success among his devoted clientele.
